Sneak Peek

Here's a peek at a tiny section of my Booty Swap quilt.

A couple years ago I attended a workshop in hand applique but I've never made a single thing using it. So why did I decide to try it on this little quilt? Because I'm crazy! It's taking me much longer than I had thought. For awhile I disliked this piece (a process I seem to go through with every quilt), but I'm feeling better about it again. My biggest regret is that I didn't make a compromise between what I thought my partner would like and what I like to do. If I enter another swap, I'll try to find that happy middle ground. I have at least learned a new skill (origami flowers), worked out a design on my own, and tried some hand applique.

That is so bright and cheery. The use of rick rak is just inspired!

the oragami flower worked so well in the fabric you chose.... If this little corner is indicative of the whole, it will be loved :-)

I admit I am scared of applique. I really want to tackle it soon. Your little peek looks lovely. Funny I just used ric-rac yesterday for the first time.

The sneak peek is nice! (I have to prepare more binding for mine - I was only able to bind the "Another Doll Quilt Swap" quilt with what I prepared over the weekend. What was I thinking tackling 2 at a time...)

That is the fun of trying something new; now you know whether you ever want to do it again. It's very cute so far.

I like it and Nature Girl loves the flowers. I can't wait to see it all finished.
The hard thing about swaps is making something that you like and your partner will like. That's hard when you don't know much about your partner. I think you make beautiful quilts so next time just make something you like. If you like it I'm sure your partner would like it too!

I love applique, but then I love hand quilting. It is very time consuming though. However I do not like sneak peeks LOL. I'm too nosey and would just love to see the whole thing because it looks very interesting!!!

Cheri~~Oh my goodness...is that beautiful flower really coming to live at my house??? If it were just this little corner and nothing else to the quilt I would be thrilled to no end...I think you hit the nail on the head when creating something for me...thank you I can't wait for it to arrive, it's perfect!
