Goodie! Two Shoes!

Woohoo! Standing on my own two feet!! Nothing like having something go wrong to make you appreciate little everyday things like walking around. I will still wear my boot at night for a month, and the doctor said it will be three to four months before the healing is complete, but the worst is over! I can do whatever feels ok, gradually increasing my walking. Yes! And I can't wait to use my right foot on the sewing machine pedal again.

Here's where Otto's quilt stands. I think I'll do one more zig zag, put in some more extra squares from the front, and fill in the rest with red.
Blog Names
Nicolette explained the name of her blog, devliegendekoe, and asked others to post why they chose the names they did. I wonder about blog names sometimes, so I thought I'd explain my blog name and hope that you will, too. Over the years I've used various combinations of my daughters' names for passwords and such. When I learned that's the first thing hackers try, I moved on to other passwords, but I still really like the combination name 'jovali,' from Jocelyn and Valerie. It has happy overtones for me, probably because it looks like 'jovial' -- and of course because it reminds me of two of my favorite people!

Yay for two shoes!! They look fabulous on you.

Ok, I must have dyslexia (and I'm tutoring someone to read???) I've always thought your blog was Jovial Quilts, which I thought was a cheery little name! Your explanation made me look twice, which makes me realize how all too often we assume something when we should look closer. DUH!

I like hybrid better anyway... it's more personal. Thanks for sharing!

I just grabbed whatever came into my head because I had no idea I would keep it up. I just wanted to blog about the quilts I was doing for family in Australia and San Diego. Who knew? Now I wish I had put a bit more thought into it.

My blogger name was actually given to me by my co-workers when I was the part time office manager of our LQS (actually hired to organize a woman who will never, never, ever be organized). We saw Amy Bradley's Quilt Diva pattern in the Checkers catalog and we started being silly - somehow the nickname stuck - so that's my story.

So happy for your healing!!

I'm glad to see the boot came off! Yeah that the recovery is going so well! Otto's quilt is marvelous!
I like the name for your blog and knowing the reason for the name just makes it better.
I chose Life with Nature Girl for obvious reasons. My child is a Nature Lover and I document our life together on the blog! It just seemed to fit!

Whoot whoot! 2 shoes! I have always liked your blog name because it sounds happy. My blog name came from an early Yahoo email addy that I still use. I got the addy when Yahoo still allowed funny characters and didn't require a number (the_quilter). I always thought that in a post apocalyptic world we would be name by what we do. There you have it -- I'm the quilter.

Ha, for a while I thought it was "Jovial Quilts" then one day I saw differently. Then I thought "Jovali" must be family name. (I like it, it sounds like an old Southern name to me and I am Southern!)

Yaay for your "own two feet" You never miss a real good thing...

Great to read you are back on your feet, so to say!
I chose my blog name for the 'free treats' that are readily available in everyone's life if they take the time to look & perhaps listen. I really do believe our lives provide us with free treats every day!

I have always like the name of your blog and I'm glad you explained it. Mine was named for what I am known for.

Glad the foot is healing.

I think that Otto is one lucky fella! His quilt is cute and colorful and one of a kind!

I have to admit I thought the name meant a happy quilter too. Eye sight is not what it use to be and it never was great! Then there is the brain behind it,,,,,,,,,,ugh.

Like others, I too for the first time noticed the actual placement of the "i" and the "l." I had always thought it was the other way around. Works well either way, though!
