Adventures

We had a great time visiting my in-laws in New York! Even the air travel was easy. It was also exciting to see the quilt I gave my mother-in-law hanging over the back of her couch and looking like it was made to be there (which it was), although I neglected to take a photo. You'll just have to trust me when I say it looks great in her living room! I felt like I was rediscovering an old friend when I saw it.

My husband and brother-in-law were very obliging and took me to The Quilting Bug in Massapequa. What a stunning assortment of batiks! The shop owner entertained the guys by showing them the longarm ("It's like driving!") while I checked out the fabrics. I couldn't resist these two.
I also picked up some blacks and whites for my strip quilt. I just got a little of each, except for the one on the left, which I like a lot. The one on the far right has a little red in it for sparkle.
And what would traveling be without travel photos? This is hardly the Eiffel Tower, but it was the most interesting thing in the Indianapolis airport. Indeed, I've never seen another like it. Would you buy an iPod from a vending machine?

Thing One and I saw one of those huge vending machines in the Minneapolis Airport last summer. I was blown away, never even imagined anything like it!

Those batiks are great! I like the b&w print on the left the best too. Who's fabric line is it?

Hi Cheri - Love the fabrics, especially those batiks!

I checked out your mom-in-law's quilt - beautiful! I just finished a block for my sampler class whose pattern is similar. It's nice to see how looks as a grown up quilt!

The batiks are amazing. I also love your B&Ws. I am collecting them too. It's interesting to see how many different ones there are out there.

Wonderful batiks and black and white fabrics! Can imagine you couldn‘t resist!
A vending machine with iPods? I’ve never seen anything like that before! I’ve bought my iPod in a proper Apple Store, but being an Apple addict I don’t know if I could resist the vending machine!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. I love the balck and white fabrics, especially. What are you going to make with them?

Wow -- those batiks are fabulous, as are the black and white prints. But an iPod from a vending machine? That's definitely different!

Ooh, fun fabrics. that b&w on the left is fabulously great for a border. I can understand being incredibly bored at the airport and looking for entertainment, but it's not like the iPod would be charged or loaded with anything, so I don't see how that would be any fun.

The quilt you made for your mother-in-law is beautiful! Of course she would hang it! She's lucky to have such a talented daughter-in-law.
I can't wait to see what you do with the black and white fabrics.
